Always a participant of school music programs, her talent was recognized early and when she was in the 5th grade she had the opportunity to audition for the prestigious Spivey Hall Children's Choir. She was selected and participated in the choir for the next 8 years. She was an original member of the "select" Spivey Hall Tour Choir and with that group, has traveled abroad twice, performed in New York City, San Antonio Texas, and various other venues around the country. From this experience Sarah learned expert vocal technique as well as discipline. While in high school Sarah participated, not only in the music program, but drama as well. While a Junior in High School Sarah won a scholarship at the Gordon College Competition for Best Female Vocalist. The pinnacle of her high school experience was the 2001 Clayton County All-Star Honor Musical production of The Wizard of Oz, in which she portrayed Dorothy. Sarah also received a music scholarship to Clayton College and State University, the home of Spivey Hall, the largest ever offered to an incoming Freshman. After completing a year of study at Clayton, Sarah has decided to devote as much time as possible to her performance career and continue her education next year. |
